After the success of Roulette last year we were delighted to be working with eight incredible studios and our six partner universities as part of Roulette 2025, to celebrate excellence in graphic design.
Roulette is a competition with boundless scope for what can be created, and this year offered opportunities for 24 students to be showcased, with eight winning a four week paid internship in London or Leeds. Click here for the 2025 winners and finalists.
Spin the wheel, take a chance!
How it worked
Eight studios each created a starting statement, which eligible students were assigned at random with the help of a roulette wheel.
There were no rules.
Students could take their statement in any way, for any audience, in any media — they just needed to show the link to the original statement, however tenuous!
The catch
No one knew which statement corresponded to which studio until the finalists were announced!
The prizes
24 finalists (three for each statement) presented to their studio for the chance to win a four week paid internship and have their work showcased by The CDCT online and on social media, and by the studio on their socials.
Finalists received mentoring/a portfolio review with their studio and were also showcased. Entries were judged on the originality and strength of the idea, communication of the link between statement and project, and the quality of the final outcomes.
