Benjamin developed his idea from a focus on the way that water currents follow changing paths through the ocean. This led to the discovery that “islands of rubbish” form in some locations. Using irony as a key concept, Benjamin promotes and advertises landfills as holiday locations in a bid to make the important subject more approachable.

Using a travel magazine format, titled Reverie, Benjamin seeks to continue the sense of irony reflecting the contrasts between ‘dreamland’ and the realities of landfill locations.
