‘Just the way it is’ is a board game where privilege, bias and stereotypes shape your path, highlighting society’s worst kept secret: that it wasn’t a fair playing field to begin with.

Through research, Lauren discovered that although lots of stereotypes and prejudice have disappeared over the years, there are still so many that exist in secret. The game aims to put a spotlight on these issues, with the player with the highest points at the end having faced the least assumptions, stereotypes and prejudice in the game winning, showing players what sort of characteristics have better privilege in life.
